The most affordable long-range all electric car, that is the Tesla Model 3 which was launched a few weeks ago in the U.S has sold out in several markets internationally, including here in Australia. Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla motors is reporting that within 24hrs of the company accepting pre-orders, they had sold out and had cleared $7.5 billion, with the implied future sales figure to be $14 billion, making this the biggest launch of a product in history. What makes the Tesla Model 3 so exciting is its low price tag, which is approximately $55,000 AUD, its long range between charging (320km) and its kerb appeal. The Model 3 is without a doubt the future of automotive transport, that may have the potential to sway traditional petrol heads.
