Beautiful Buick at Charterhouse Auction

A pre-war Buick 41 Special Sedan is one of the star cars going under the Charterhouse hammer at their classic and vintage car auction on Sunday 15th June at The Royal Bath & West Showground, Shepton Mallet.

“It is probably the best Buick 41 currently for sale. Bought by the vendor as a project, it underwent a total restoration costing £41,000 and that was with favourable mate’s rates at the garage!” Commented Matthew Whitney. “Now estimated at less than the total restoration cost, the owner is selling to fund a pre-war Cadillac convertible. It really represents a fantastic opportunity for the successful purchaser to buy a car that is better than new, can be enjoyed immediately and may also pay for its keep as a wedding car.”

Buick has always been expensive and favoured by the rich and famous. Perhaps the most famous Buick 41 Special was the stretched limousine owned by Mrs Wallace Simpson.

Fords Rock ’n Roll into Charterhouse Classic Car Auction

A trio of 1960’s Fords, from the golden era of Rock ‘n Roll, are entered into the Charterhouse June classic car auction, during the Bristol Classic Car Show at the Royal Bath & West Showground at Shepton Mallet.

“The owner of the three classic Ford’s sadly lost his wife earlier this year. Having spent so much time together cruising and going to classic car shows, he has decided the memories are just too strong and has decided to sell all three cars.” Commented Matthew Whitney. “However, he will not be leaving the classic car scene altogether as he will use the money raised to buy a 1960’s Jaguar Mk II to enjoy.”

With a real passion for early 1960’s Ford 6 cylinder cars, there are two 1960 Zodiac Mk II’s and a 1961 Ford Zephyr Mk II (which is an upmarket Zodiac). All three cars have been professionally restored within the past 5 years. The 1960 Zodiac finished in two tone grey paintwork, was originally purchased from Eric Perry Ltd of Torquay and with 70,000 from new, is a now multiple show winning car. With all three Fords having a 2.5 litre 6 cylinder engine fitted to manual gearbox with overdrive, they are a rare sight on the road today and will bring miles of smiles for the new owners at the Charterhouse auction.

Charterhouse is now accepting for this forthcoming specialist classic car auction and for in June and for their collectors auction, also in June.

About the service we offer our buyers:

“ I greatly appreciated the integrity of the advice  received from the staff at Charterhouse in relation  the Alvis motor car offered at auction by Charterhouse .   On the basis of telephone discussion and Mathew’s description of the car I was confident to travel from Australia to the UK  and the beautiful Shepton Mallet , Somerset area  for the Auction .

The Alvis was absolutely as described by Mathew and this gave me the confidence to successfully bid at your  auction.

It was a pleasure to meet the various Charterhouse staff who went out of their way to assist in the purchase  process  . I am grateful for the honest ,  professional assistance and advice in all aspects financial  through to the matters relating to delivery and shipment .

Please convey to Abigail, Mathew, Richard, Naomi and others at Charterhouse my gratitude for their exceptional assistance , involvement and professionalism  in the process and adventure of purchasing the Alvis motor car.”
